Today's Dare: Ask your spouse if you can begin praying together. Talk about the best time to do this, your lunch hour, or before bedtime. Use this time to commit your concerns, disagreements, and needs before the Lord. Don't forget to thank Him for His provision and blessing. Even if your spouse refuses, resolve to spend this daily time in prayer yourself.
God's Word says: If two of you on earth agree about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father. Matthew 18:19

I have not read the ch. yet but this dare should be very easy b/c chad and I go to bed at the sametime almost every night. So that would be a perfect time to pray together. We have talked about this several times as of now we pray together about once a month.
ReplyDeleteDaniel and I have been talking about praying together a lot over the past few weeks. We even made up a calendar of what to pray for when. We have YET to actually start praying together...but we did last night before bed. It was awesome. I asked him what he wanted to pray over and then I prayed for a few minutes. Well, apparently I didn't cover everything, b/c right when I said "amen", he started praying. THIS IS HUGE for us and him! He doesn't really like to pray out loud unless it's at dinner and a simple " thanks for the food" prayer. Anyway...it was really cool. We are kinda implementing the 7-5-2 thing again and starting off with praying together twice a week. I'm loving it so far!! :)
ReplyDeleteThis one should be easy for Ben and I because we have been doing this since we got married. However,we have slacked off these past couple of months. We pray together so randomly now and I can definately see how it has affected us. I need to make it a PRIORITY for EVERY NIGHT like it was in the past. I needed this dare to remind me of the FOUNDATION of our marriage. (Not that I don't KNOW that already but I/we tend to take things for granted. Even when things are going "fine") Lord, thank you for Your grace, love and mercy on us!
