Today's Dare: Prepare a special dinner at home, just for the two of you. The dinner can be as nice as you prefer. Focus this time on getting to know your spouse better, perhaps in areas you've rarely talked about. Determine to make it an enjoyable evening for you and your spouse.
God's Word says: How blessed is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains understanding. Proverbs 3:13
Good understanding produces favor. Proverbs 13:15
Acquire wisdom; and with all your acquiring, get understanding. Proverbs 4:7

Ladies,I don't know about you but this dare is going to be difficult with kiddos. So instead I'm going to change it up a bit and replace the "special dinner at home" idea with a "special dessert in our bedroom" once the kids are in bed.
ReplyDelete( Alicia, the dessert WILL be an ACTUAL DESSERT & no hanky panky) I think LOL
So I will let you ladies know how it goes later on tonight or tomorrow. ;)
We just did dessert and wine! It was fun and relaxing! We had some goods talks and I asked him 4 of the questions on page 206.
ReplyDeleteAnd BTW I hide my book in my panty drawer so he will never find it and hopefully wont find out that I am doing it, I am big when it comes to surprises. He does ask questions every once in awhile, I just tell him it is a bible study I am doing.
And Alicia, I have had a few bad days too! It is very normal!
Love you ladies!
Took the dessert idea from Stashia (Thanks!) and I guess Michelle had the same idea!! So fun! Stashia, I took your wine idea and went to Kroger while Sam was at ballet to find a red that would work with cheesecake (by the way, Kroger bakery had a very large slice of New York Cheesecake for $3.99) and a meat I'm doing this weekend. So much fun planning this! It made for such a fun day!! The evening was wonderful, one of our best!!

ReplyDeleteOk, so on these dares I'm beginning to feel gipped! I had a dessert but Ben did not want to. :( not only that he was super tired. BUT,WE FINALLY got to discuss "Healthy Rules Of Engagement" along with the other questions and other things! Woohoo!!!
ReplyDeleteIf we don't get to fully fulfill the dare does that mean it doesn't count?
I sometimes feel guilty if it's not EXACT. UGH!!!! Me and my perfection! LOL
michelle-give yourself some slack. it's about growing to love him, not be perfect. no one (except yourself) expects perfection. (and yes...i am preaching to the choir right now! lol) we are all a work in progress!! love ya!
ReplyDeletewell, i completed this dare today...i didn't have the groceries i needed to do the dare yesterday. but it worked out perfect. i made daniel's favorite dish-chicken parmesan with pasta and he raved about it. and then i also made his favorite dessert, a golden cake. and he said it was the best i'd ever made! <3 i was so happy. we didn't really talk about anything new or special but we have had lots of those conversations lately. but it was still a wonderful dinner and time together. :)
i was late reading my love dare for the day and i actually accomplished this w/out knowing it was a dare :) i fixed chicken and veggies for dinner. the kids and i usually eat before paul gets home, but thought i'd surprise him and wait for him. so i fed the kids as they finished paul got home. i sent the kids to play while paul and i were able to sit and eat in peace :) it was great. he was very appreciative and complimented the entire evening :) this is GREAT stuff!!!
