Day 35: Love is accountable

Today's Dare is Find a marriage mentor-someone who is a strong Christian and who will be honest and loving with you. If you feel that counseling is needed, then take the first step to set up up an appointment. During this process, ask God to direct your decisions and discernment.

God's Word says: Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed. Proverbs 15:22

  1. This is one area that I really am blessed. I have had a mentor for the past almost 2 years, and it has been HUGE for me. I love having someone who has "done it the right way" influence me and correct me when/if I'm wrong. It's so nice to be able to ask her for advice, opinions and guidance.

  2. I have a "mentor" in Jane (MIL) but I think I need someone else for the marriage stuff since she is Richard's mom. I need to start praying about this.

  3. I would LOVE to have a mentor couple that Chad and I could turn to when we have tough issues. We have both had mentors in the past and it is wonderful but for someone to know you as a couple would be the best thing ever!

  4. I wonder if Lake Pointe can recommend any married mentors? That's something to look into. I would love to go to another married (older) couple for some mentoring.

  5. I think an older married couple mentor would be AWESOME! However...I think it would be hard to find the "right" couple. It'd definitely need to be someone that Daniel respected in order for it to be compatible...and I feel like that would be hard. Not b/c he doesn't respect a lot of people...don't take that wrong...it's just harder for men (i think) to open up the way we as women do! But I would certainly love it!! :)
