Today's Dare: Love is a choice, not a feeling. It is an initiated action, not a knee-jerk reaction. Choose today to be committed to love even if your spouse has lost most of their interest in receiving it. Say to them today in words similar to these, "I love you, period. I choose to love you even if you don't love me in return".

This was an odd dare for me, to say, "I love you even if you dont love me in return". I guess it was odd because I had to say it to my husband who I assume would always love me.

"I am grateful for God's loveand I want my love for you to reflect that ... so I will always love you even if you dont love me in return."
He said, "cool, did I do something to make you think I dont love you!"
LOL! Stashia that is so funny. I felt odd about this too. It seems so weird to say the phrase to Richard when I assume he will always love me, b/c its a choice not a feeling. Which seems a little contradictory to the whole dare.
ReplyDeleteI had a hard time with this dare too. We were having an off night and our dance was not on. So there just wasn't a good time for me to say this to him without him thinking that I was being sarcastic. But I'm so proud of you two for saying it-even when it was odd! Go YOU! :)
