Day 9: Love makes good impressions

Today's Dare: Think of a specific way you'd like to greet your spouse today. Do it with a smile and enthusiasm. Then determine to change your greeting to reflect your love for them.

God's Word says: Greet one another with a kiss of love I Peter 5:14

  1. "Welcome home Daddy" is our favorite time of day! We love to jump out and scare him. You may think that we don't scare him any longer since we do it 95% of the time and you are right. BUT, he is such a good hubby that he pretends for Miles that he is scared. LOL

I can't wait for today's challenge. I'm going to add something to it just from me...I just have to figure out what. :)

  2. HOW FUN! Every time Gage hears the front door open, he loses his mind (in a good way) and screams for daddy and jumps up and down. Last week, I decided to try the same thing, since I knew he had a tough day at work. Needless to say, he LOVED my reaction and said "that's what I expect from NOW on!" LOL I think I am going to try to do something similar from now on...at least always getting UP off the couch or putting down whatever I am doing. We always kiss hello and goodbye....but maybe I can find a way to make it more special. Off to think about it throughout the day... :)

  3. welcoming daddy home in the evening is one our favorite parts of the day :) kids run to him with big smiles and hugs ... he loves it! i usually sit back and let him have his time with the kids and just say "hi, how was your day". i'll make an effort to make it 'special' today and in the future:) i'll let you know how it goes!

  4. Like all of your homes, it is the FAVORITE time of the day at our home for both mommy and kids! They can hardly stay inside when they hear the garage door starting to open. I think for today, maybe we will take an idea from Tara and surprise him! That sounds like something fun that we could all do!!

  5. Alicia, I love that you acted like Gage. That is fabulous. :)

So I just figured out my extra surprise. I'm going to put on makeup! LOL, I know. On days we don't leave the house, I usually don't put on makeup. I know I need to dress up for him. I'm not goign to get dressed up, but at least nicer than normal. :)

Dave, hiding is so fun for the kids! :) Let me know how it goes. A couple of times we haven't heard the garage door and Chris has walked in before we had a chance to hide. Miles made him go back outside. haha!

  6. LOVE IT!!!! I'm going to try something I did last week as well. It was done totally by accident but Ben ENJOYED it WAY TOO MUCH and went on and on about it thru the evening.
I am going to be "getting dressed" before I answer the door.
(NO ladies I WILL NOT be NAKED!)
Maybe this is too much info but that's how I plan on greeting him when he gets home. (It won't happen on a DAILY basis but it IS something DIFFERENT,right?) LOL
<3 you all! Happy Greetings! ;)

  7. We (the girls) usually run and hide when they hear the garage door. Then I play along and say, "I dont know where the girls are".
And like Shanon I wait my turn to get a hug and kiss and sometimes it does not happen. I am usually in the kitchen and just say, "Hey Babe!" Chad is out of town today so I did not get to greet him in person. But from now on I plan on stopping what I am doing making eye contact and saying hello! Not that big of a deal, I know but I hardly every stop what I am doing to say hello! AND I plan on giving him a good slap on the butt!! :)

  8. Well, I kinda failed at today's dare. BUT it wasn't my fault!! Daniel never comes home at the same time each day, so it's always a guessing game for me. My PLAn was like Tara, to take a shower (gasp) and put on some make up and wear something other than my jammies! LOL Well, he walked in the door right as I was getting ready to go shower. :*( I was so bummed! I even called to see when he'd come home, but he didn't hear his phone. *sigh* Gage did the normal "jump up and down like a lunatic" thing, and when I just threw my arms around him and kissed him, he said "well, not quite as enthusiastic, but that'll do". LOL So I guess he really did like it when I was silly and crazy and acted like Gage. I'll need to do that more often I guess! Even though I didn't get to do this dare like I wanted...tomorrow is a new day and I'll make more of an effort by getting ready earlier in the day! I enjoyed reading what ya'll did/planned to do today!! Love you all!

  9. I failed too ladies. Ben got home and actually had a house key so I did not get to answer/be at the door when he got home. I'm going to try to at least do the above mentioned greeting once a week and other than that the "new" greeting will be more like Stashia's. A good slap on the butt along with eye contact and kissing. Heeeeyyyy!!!! Who said we couldn't get romantic with a welcome home greeting?

  10. I think a slap on the butt sounds great! I'm going to have to try that out-we never did hide. I forgot, but the kids did their craziness with dad and I usually give him a big hug and G rated kiss. The kids always make dad throw them on our bed over and over when he gets home, so I may just have to join in on that and then start trying the hiding thing too. That sounds like so much fun! Good job ladies-you are so creative!!

  11. Well I am a few days late but I have really enjoyed reading what you ladies did. So fun! We usually run and greet him, well the boys run more than me. In warmer weather after Michael raised the garage door he would wait at the end of the drive way (we have a long drive way) and jaxson would run out and get inside and help him drive the car in. They both thought that was fun. I will try the slap on the butt and the hiding. Sounds fun.

  12. ok so the kids did the usual waiting for daddy to open the door and gave hugs/kisses. i sat on the couch while they had their turn, then i got up and walked towards paul as he walked towards me ...his arms opened up for a hug. we had a good long GENUINE hug ... not one of those 'quicky'hugs ;) he mentioned 'wow this is a nice hug' soooooo he does notice! then he was going to go back to work, but decided to stay home and when the kids went to bed we had some gooooood 'adult' time :) so the was a good day!!!
