Day 10: Love is unconditional

Today's Dare: Do something out of the ordinary today for your spouse-something that proves (to you and to them) that your love is based on a choice and nothing else. Demonstrate love to them for the sheer joy of being their partner in marriage.

God's Word says: God demonstrates His own love for us, in that while we still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

  1. ok, this one sounds a little difficult-I'll have to start thinking about this right now.

  2. When reading today "Love Is Unconditional" I immediately thought of this song and wanted to share the lyrics with you all. AGAPE LOVE is written all in this song and it REMINDS me of HOW MUCH CHRIST LOVES US even when we fail.

    You Love Me Anyway
    By Sidewalk Prophets

    The question was raised
    As my conscience fell
    A silly, little lie
    It didn’t mean much
    But it lingers still
In the corners of my mind

Still you call me to walk
On the edge of this world
To spread my dreams and fly
    But the future’s so far
    My heart is so frail
I think I’d rather stay inside

    CHORUS
    But You love me anyway
It’s like nothing in life that I’ve ever known
    You love me anyway
Oh Lord, how You love me
    How You love me

It took more than my strength
    To simply be still
    To seek but never find
    All the reasons we change
    The reasons I doubt
And why do loved ones have to die?

    CHORUS

I am the thorn in Your crown
    But You love me anyway
I am the sweat from Your brow
    But You love me anyway
I am the nail in Your wrist
    But You love me anyway
    I am Judas’ kiss
    But You love me anyway

See now, I am the man that called out from the crowd
For Your blood to be spilled on this earth shaking ground
Yes then, I turned away with this smile on my face
With this sin in my heart tried to bury Your grace
And then alone in the night, I still called out for You
So ashamed of my life, my life, my life

    But You love me anyway
Oh, God… how you love me

    CHORUS

You love me, You love me
You love me, You love me
    How You love me
    How You love me
    How You love me

  3. Sad to say but out of the ordinary for me will be to have a sweet tone in my voice and to answer his (unending) questions with a good attitude and joyful heart! WOW, this will be hard. He just called with 3 questions or so and I kept a good attitude but I caught myself getting worked up. Man I have a serious problem :(

One thing I learned from the ch is that Agape love is not just between us and God it is the kind of love we need to give to our spouse as well. I guess all the sermons I have heard about Agape love we mainly about us and God. So now I need to work on that part of my relationship with God so that I can give that kind of love to Chad.

  4. i have NO clue how to do this today. not to toot my own horn, but i feel like i do SO much for daniel normally that shows my unconditional love for him. i'm at a loss for what ELSE to do. (sorry if that sounds bratty, i SO don't mean it that way). for example, his love language is physical touch....OOOOHHHH....wow, I just got an idea! see, this is GOOD to write it out! lol i think i will give him a full body massage (not like that, michelle!) ;) lol i rub his back every.single.night and have since we got married. he's grown used to it and says that he knows that i love him when i rub him...even when i'm nursing a baby and exhausted. so maybe tonight, instead of just rubbing his back for 10 minutes, i'll include rubbing his feet, arms, legs, etc.

  5. Stashia- I am so much like that so your not alone. When Ben starts asking me question after question I catch myself getting annoyed and wanting him to get to the point already. (I'm so rude!) But with this Love Dare commitment I'm getting back into the swing of things and having the desire to get back to what made him and I fall in love. NOT only that but also remembering what Unconditional Love REALLY is. We all need to remember that we are HUMAN NOT PERFECT and NOT let Satan beat us down with holding the negative thoughts captive. Ask Christ to hold your thoughts captive so that you may glorify him in a positive way. (I hope that makes sense)

Now Alicia..........why do I have to be the "dirty one" ? LOL I love you girl! Even if the massage was "like that" IT'S YOUR HUSBAND!!!!!!

Ladies we are all MARRIED and a Wise Loving Christian Woman once said to ALL OF US at MOPS..........."Be PLAYFUL and FLIRT with your man!"
(Davelyn you and Sarah KNOW HER VERY WELL)
So go Play and Flirt! You will also SEE/Be REMINDED what it was like when you did date or when you were Newly Weds.

Sorry for ANOTHER LONG post but if you know me you KNOW that I TALK way too much anyway.LOL Bedsides I was ONLY going to post a comment in regards to Alicia's comment. Love you!!!!

  9. Well ladies what normally happens when I have something planned away from the family at the end of the day Ben usually ends up cooking or picking up dinner. But NOT TONIGHT!!!!!!! I MADE SURE to have dinner ready (well almost ready) for him and the kids when he got off of work and before I left to Young Lives meeting. Just so that you know Ben was SO ABOUT IT!!!!!!
While I was at my Young Lives meeting I got an email from him saying
"There's nothing sexier than you taking care of us"
Now I don't know about you but I that was a "HOT" compliment. I got all warm and fuzzy feeling inside after reading it. ;)

  10. Michelle-that is WONDERFUL! i'm so proud of you! and what a huge compliment. i love it!!

i decided to wait on the massage since stashia let me know that it might be a better thing to use for tomorrow's dare-THANKS STASHIA!!

so, i leave notes for daniel all the time. but while i was taking a few minutes to myself (with inara, of course) at michael's, i saw a little sticker pad on clearance for $2. it had little stickers that you fill in for scrapbooking. so i thought, "sure, why not. this will be a change from the normal notes i leave scrawled on random left over sheets of paper!" so i chose the sticker that said "the top 10 reasons why i love you" and i filled it out with truly heartfelt sentiments. i wrote things like "b/c you love me in spite of my flaws", etc. i left it on his pillow, and when he saw it...he proceeded to tell me why he loved me as well. <3 i'm glad he appreciated it!

  11. You girls are FABULOUS!!! And creative! :) Michelle, I think Ben's text was great. What a compliment!

I bought Chris a strawberry cheesecake. I don't like pies and cheesecakes very much so it is always a big treat for him to get them. He was super appreciative. :)

    I love you all!
