Today's Dare: Determine to become your spouse's biggest fan and to reject any thoughts of jealousy. To help you set your heart on your spouse and focus on their achievements, take yesterday's list of negative attributes and discreetly burn it. Then share with your spouse how glad you are about a success he or she recently enjoyed.
God's Word says: Love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire. Song of Solomon 8:6

I have not "burned" the negative list but I plan on doing it tomorrow. Today was busy and I don't want to do it while Ben is home. I know I could just throw it away but I don't think I will "feel" like I really destroyed it. For me there is some sense of closure if I just BURN it.
ReplyDeleteI hope that doesn't make me a pyromaniac. LOL
What an awesome evening with Ben! And I believe it was due to giving him some words of affirmation/appreciation as well as continuing to be patient,kind,not being selfish, being thoughtful, trying to not be rude or irritable and giving him praise and words of encouragement/appreciation.
I feel like I'm being a "Good Wife" now. Wow what a feeling!
Ooops! I somewhat quoted twice. Oh well,you ladies know what I was getting at. Have a good night and will blog tomorrow! {HUGS}
ReplyDeleteHi Ladies! I am Sarah Mason, I know most of you, but for those who don't know me I'm Davelyn's sister in law and best buddies with Bec. I have really enjoyed reading your comments over the last week and am glad to be along side you guys in this life changing journney. This is my second time to go through the book, just finished the first time about a week and a half ago. As I know you have heard from Davelyn and Bec, this book is really incredible. It has changed so much in my life and given me such a greater look at God's design for love, not the worlds (which we are so used to seeing). It is going to get harder, but please stick with it, it's worth it! Thanks for letting me join you guys!
ReplyDeleteI have not burned mine either. I did not want my kids to try it later :) Plus it only has 2 things and I keep thinking there has to be more and I want to burn them all!!!! heeeeeheee. I just reiterated his success he had with the kids over the weekend. As I was praising him he praised me back! Sweet but I dont want him to think he has to do that every time.
ReplyDeleteI have never viewed jealous as a consuming fire, wow!!
I haven't burned mine yet either. AND...I'm still waiting on my book to come in the mail. :*( A friend had an extra copy and said she mailed it last week. I can't go buy my own..so here I am waiting...still waiting. I'm bummed. I feel like I am missing so much of this by only reading the dares. :( I'll definitely catch up on the reading once i get the book though.
